Art Works 10 week course (Saturday mornings 10am-12pm)
This 10 week course meets once per week starting Saturday May 2nd.
Each week we will keep a weekly journal, read about 15 pages of the book, engage in dialogue and sharing of your work and spend 2 hours making art together.
A copy of Art Works book will be mailed to you (if you do not have a copy).
Benefits of participating include: connecting with Amy Davis, (author),
weekly 2 hour facilitated virtual discussion and art making
and participation in a virtual final exhibition.
In this 10 week group participants will engage in a supportive community virtual space to encourage one another in exploring the value of engaging in art to know oneself. Facilitated by trauma expert and founder of Art Therapy Studio Chicago, Dr Andrus will customize each week with a discussion of the book, a prompt for art making at home and a safe space to share art with one another. The group will invite one of the authors, Amy Davis for a guest appearance to discuss the book and the group will conclude with a virtual art exhibition for people who complete the full 10 weeks. This group is an excellent way to find your path to art making in a supportive space. No previous art making skill required. We will find creative ways to engage with non traditional household materials to explore our creative selves.
Register by April 19th to reserve your space! Group is limited to 10 slots.
Facilitated by Dr Mary Andrus founder of Art Therapy Studio Chicago and co-facilitated by Anna Celander ATR, LCPC.
