Art & Play with Tanya Mance & Mary Andrus
This workshop will engage participants in art and play using found objects, deconstructing and reconstructing to make sense of our experiences. Co-facilitated by Art Therapist Tanya Mance & Mary Andrus, this workshop will hold space for you to play and create using art.
Materials needed: Found objects: empty tp roll, discarded mask, cardboard, yarn, string, foil, tape, glue, paper and drawing materials; crayons, markers, pastels
Tanya is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Chicago State University and a Masters degree in Counseling with a Concentration in Art Therapy from Adler University. Her clinical experience includes working with adults with persistent mental illnesses in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She also has extensive experience working with children. Tanya is also an artist, creating customized pieces of art using acrylic as her specialty. In her spare time she enjoys riding her bike, maintaining her aquarium, hiking, and going on adventures with her 2 teenage children.
Mary Andrus, founder of Art Therapy Studio Chicago, LTD is passionate about educating and creating spaces to heal trauma, with a focus on liberatory, anti-racist community based practices in art therapy. She has a Doctorate in Art Therapy, is a published author and directs the Art Therapy Program at Lewis and Clark in Portland Oregon.
